Another old and respected colonist in the person of Mr. SamuelBeddome, who during many years occupied the position of Police Magistrate of this city, has joined the great majority. The deceased gentleman was in his eighty-first year, but his death was not expected by the large circle of friends whom by his ability, fearlessness, and general courteousness in the discharge of his official duties as Police Magistrate and his urbanity in private life he had drawn around him. Since he resigned from the Magistracy in 1890 Mr. Beddome had lived a retired life.
