OWEN, James Died 30 April 1877 at Port Lincoln
Death of an OLD- COLONIST — On April 30 there died at Port Lincoln an old and well known colonist named Mr. James Owen. The deceased sailed from London in 1837 and arriving in this colony shortly afterwards settled on Kangaroo Island. After residing there for some time he removed to Port Lincoln, but in due course he left that township for Port Adelaide, where he lived for three years, returning to Port Lincoln in 1847. During the next seven years he kept a public-house in Port Lincoln, and afterwards followed a similar occupation in various parts of the colony, finally settling in Port Lincoln in 1871.
