SUDDEN DEATH.-- On Saturday morning last, Mr. George Sansom, of Hindmarsh, died suddenly whilst inthe act of shaving himself, having had a stroke of paralysis. Deceased was for some years employed as porter, &c, at the Register and Observer offices, and was an old colonist.

Mrs. CarolineBlack (maiden name Warren), who died this week at the ace of 85. was the second wife of Mr. W. E. Black, who came to the State by the Coromandel, and was one of the pioneers of the colony. Mrs. Black arrived in South Australia by the ship Asia in 1839. She has left three sons —Messrs. E. and .T. Black in the Postal Department, and Edward. Black, of Remark; three daughters— Mrs. J. W. Cairo, of Port Adelaide; Mrs. Thomas, of Adelaide; and Mrs. Henderson, of Tea-Tree Gully; 33 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
