DARBY, Albert Mr. A. Darby, who died at Hindmarsh last week, arrived from England with his parents in the whip Dukeof Wellington, in 1849. They were about the first set tlers in t he township of Riverton, and Mr. Darby, with his parents, engaged in farming for some years. In 1863 he married Miss Ellen Hill, who came from London. Soon afterwards he became an engine driver, and was employed at Terowie, where he and his family spent the best part of their lives. He was 82 years of age and last year he and his wife celebrated their diamond wedding. He leaves a widow, five daughters— Mrs. T. Hodge, (Grange), Mrs. H A. Fox (New Zealand), Mrs. W. Ewan (Woodville), Mrs. B. J. Cullen (Terowie), Miss A. Darby (Pinery) - and one son, Mr. Oliver Darby (Mannum). There are eight grand children and seven great-grandchildren.

HOUNSLOW, Emanuel Mr. Emanuel Houndow. formerly seamen's missionary of Port Adelaide, died at the Semaphore on September 12 at the age of 82 years. He was born in Buckingbamshire on December 20, 1835, and came to South Australia with his parents in the Duke of Wellington in November, 1849. He resided at Modbury, Houghton, and Brighton for about twenty years, and then settled at Port Adelaide, and labored in the seamen's mission for nearly 40 years. Mr. Hounslow's wife died in June, 1895, and the following are the survivors of the family: — Mrs. W. Rodick, Glasgow; Mr. A. E. Hounslow, Perth; Mrs. A. B. Hounslow, Semaphore; Mr. W. R. Hounslow, Lockleys; Mr. F. E. Hounslow, Perth; and Mrs,.E. C. Behn, Alberton. There are 34 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
